Meet Paul
Age 45
I work for an electrical contractor and enjoy traveling with my wife and daughter, golfing, and attending sporting events.
The higher steroid doses I was taking to manage androgen levels led to weight gain and puffy cheeks—it made me lose hope that there would ever be a better way to treat classic CAH.
I struggled with androgen control—my A4 and
17-OHP numbers were consistently high.
I felt self-conscious about my appearance because of the consequences of high-dose steroids.
Paul participated in the clinical study for CRENESSITY in adults.
Goals for starting CRENESSITY: I was hoping to be able to reduce my steroid dose with better androgen control.
- My labs 4 weeks after starting CRENESSITY showed that my androgen levels went down, and they continue to be well managed.
- Before CRENESSITY, I struggled with having to increase steroid dosage and not always seeing great results. Now I’m able to take a lower dose of steroids since I’ve been maintaining better control of A4.
- The reduced puffiness in my face is due to reducing my steroid dosage. This was something I had been teased about since I was a kid.
When CRENESSITY came out, it gave me a new opportunity, something to look forward to.
Paul has classic CAH, is taking CRENESSITY, and was compensated by Neurocrine to share his story. Information here reflects Paul’s personal experience with CRENESSITY.

17-OHP=17-hydroxyprogesterone; A4=androstenedione; CAH=congenital adrenal hyperplasia.
